Kuwentong Jollibee Valentine Series - Vow
This short film is for those people who love unconditionally. Two people at a fast food restaurant unexpectedly orders the same food. The boy thought to himself that she's the one, and vows to himself that he will try to do his best to be her perfect man. But in the end, the girl married another man, and not him - resulting in being best friends forever. This story develops throughout the film, by using camera angles/effects, sound effect, and acting. First, in camera angles/effects, as we can see, the slow motion effect at the beginning portrays that something is happened in the present. For example, in the marriage day, as the bride walks into the altar slowly, the boy narrates about their past, then transitioning it to the present, it simultaneously repeats in the past and the present - cherishing those moments until to this day. This lets the viewers have a little context on what is happening. Second, the sound effects, using an instrumental music (violin and guitar) as the background music reflects how it became romantic until the sadness (being friend-zoned) comes in and it suits in the film as well. Lastly, the acting part, the dialogues and reactions of the actors is well-fitted for the film, it delivers the message smoothly to the viewers. The short film is short but it gives a relatable feeling or a message to us.
